Peptide Cycling: When to Take Breaks

Not all peptides need cycling. Some require breaks due to receptor desensitization, others work better with continuous use. Here's the clear map of what to cycle and what not to.

Needs cycling

GH secretagogues ([[Ipamorelin|17]], tesamorelin stack). Ghrelin receptors desensitize with continuous stimulation. Standard: 8-12 weeks on, 4 weeks off. Without breaks, effectiveness drops by week 12-16.

Epithalon ([[Epithalon|15]]). By nature a course-based peptide. 10mg over 10-20 days, 1-2 times per year. Continuous use isn't needed or studied.

Doesn't need cycling

BPC-157 ([[BPC-157|22]]). Used continuously during active healing, 4-6 weeks. Desensitization not described in literature. Stop when the injury has healed.

Tirzepatide/retatrutide. GLP-1/GIP receptors show no clinical desensitization in trials up to 72 weeks. Can be used continuously until target weight is reached.

NAD+. Coenzyme, doesn't work through receptors. No cycling needed.

AOD-9604 and TB-500

Desensitization data is mixed. Conservative approach: 8-12 weeks with 4-week breaks. Some researchers use 5-days-on/2-off for AOD-9604 instead of full breaks.
