What is a peptide?
Peptides are chains of two or more amino acids connected by peptide bonds. Through them, the organs and systems of the body talk to each other. Peptides have been studied since the early 1900s. The term "peptide" itself, along with the first synthesis of such a molecule, was described by Fischer and Fourneau in 1901. Since then science has come a long way: today more than 400 peptides have gone through clinical trials. Every day the human body independently produces around 300,000 different peptides. Among them are well-known ones: insulin and glucagon, which keep blood glucose levels under control; endorphins, enkephalins, oxytocin and vasopressin - regulators of pain and emotions; GHK-Cu - a tripeptide that the body releases in response to tissue damage, launching skin healing processes; DSIP - a peptide that induces deep sleep and is produced naturally in the first half of the night.Fragments of natural proteins Many popular injectable peptides are not something artificially invented, but active fragments of large natural molecules: BPC-157 - a fragment of BPC (Body Protection Compound) TB-500 - the active part of the protein Thymosin Beta-4 AOD9604 - a fat-burning fragment of growth hormone, to which an additional element has been added at the end of the chain for greater stability and longer presence in the body. Why peptides win over classic pharmaceutical drugs The body perceives peptides as its own. That is why they act precisely, rather than hitting broadly. Being natural compounds, peptides integrate into biochemical processes instead of causing resistance from the body, as happens with synthetic molecules. It's important to understand: peptides are not happiness pills, but regulators with specific functions in each case. When using them the nuances matter: dosages, possible risks, compatibility. Often, without lifestyle changes, peptides have only a temporary effect. Changes in habits, whether behavioral or dietary, play a role no less important than peptides, especially in maintaining results after completing a course.
