AOD-9604 vs Tirzepatide: Two Fat Loss Approaches

Two fat loss peptides. Completely different mechanisms. [[Tirzepatide|10]] makes you eat less by suppressing appetite through GLP-1/GIP receptors. Tirzepatide: eat less

Dual GLP-1/GIP agonist. Slows gastric emptying, signals satiety to the brain, improves insulin sensitivity. You eat less because you genuinely feel full earlier and longer. SURMOUNT-1 showed 22.5% weight loss at 15mg over 72 weeks in 2539 people. The effect is appetite-driven.

Growth hormone fragment (amino acids 177-191). Activates beta-3 adrenergic receptors to trigger lipolysis (fat breakdown) and inhibits lipogenesis (fat creation). Doesn't affect appetite, blood sugar, IGF-1, or growth. Dosed at 250-500mcg/day on an empty stomach.

Side effects: remarkably mild. No GI issues. No appetite changes. Occasional headache, injection site irritation.

When to use which

Tirzepatide if: appetite control is the main challenge, you overeat even when you don't want to, you need the metabolic benefits (HbA1c, lipids, blood pressure) beyond just fat loss.

AOD-9604 if: you already eat clean but want to accelerate fat mobilization, you can't tolerate GLP-1 GI side effects, you want targeted fat loss without changing your appetite or energy levels.

Combining them

Some researchers run both: tirzepatide handles the appetite/metabolic side, AOD-9604 adds direct lipolysis on top. Different mechanisms, no overlapping side effects. The combination attacks fat from two directions simultaneously.
